New NISD MIDDLE School Magnet School

The new Jones Magnet School will be housed at Jones Middle School in a specially designed instructional space that is dynamic, technology-rich, and the first of its kind in Northside ISD.

The renovations and addition will include larger than normal math and science classrooms and labs designed for collaboration and group learning. There will also be dedicated space for office and administrative staff.

The two-story design includes a STEM Lab, Engineering Lab, Robotic Field, and Makerspace. It also incorporates various types of learning settings in a flexible and open concept.

Applications are now open for Northside ISD’s first middle school magnet school. The Jones Magnet School will be STEM-focused and welcome 140 students in the inaugural sixth grade class in August 2020.

The schematic designs for the addition/renovations were approved by the Northside Board of Trustees in October. Construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2020.
