Reeder Consulting: College & Career Paths Selected for NAWBO San Antonio Rising Star Award

Reeder Consulting: College & Career Paths was nominated at the beginning of the year as one of almost 100 submissions for The National Association of Women Business Owners award for the San Antonio chapter, one of the largest chapters in the US. From those submissions, 17 finalist were selected, requiring an interview with 10 San Antonio women. Ultimately five winners were selected.

About a month ago, we received a call sharing we won the Rising Star Award, which is given to a company who has been in existence for under five years. We barely made the cut as this month we celebrate hitting the five year mark. What a wonderful way to cross this milestone. The celebration was scheduled for March but is now rescheduled for August due to the ongoing crisis. At that time, Reeder Consulting will be honored at this event, along with four other incredible women.

You often hear, "It's just an honor to be considered" and I 100% feel this way. I never, ever thought I'd win. When you hear the stories of how these women are impacting our community, not just being successful in their business, but giving back in ways that make a difference, I'm humbled to be in their presence.

But the honest truth is, had my clients not felt the investment was worth it, I would not be in business, nor would I be receiving this award. I've always said to the "Man Upstairs" that if I was blessed to have a purpose that helped others, I would always look for ways to give back. This is why I was so passionate about Angst, the documentary on anxiety that consumed four months of my life. And now, it continues to be shown all around San Antonio and surrounding areas. In addition, as I've mentioned before, the new documentary The Upstanders is featuring the Molak family story of their beautiful son, David. This film is going to save lives and had community partners not agreed to help support Angst, as well as over 31 ISD's, this would not be happening. It's one thing I love so much about our San Antonio community.
